Location just next door to the gift shop and concession, and the restaurant. Also, to the original falls.

The recently renovated room with a private bathroom and a shower was modern and comfortable. The food was brilliant and the setting was nice, with beautiful surroundings and a gift shop and restaurant close by. Such a great stay, as always.

The room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the rustic design. the location of the hotel, nestled in a quiet setting with well-maintained grounds, was a great escape from the city. We also loved the delightful dinner we had at the on-site restaurant, where we got to try some tasty local specialties.
One disappointment was the breakfast. the food was not up to par and the coffee was subpar.

We had an amazing experience at Village Historique De Val-Jalbert! the room in one of the renovated old mill employee houses was spacious and comfortable, with modern amenities. the historic village and the rejuvenated pulp and paper mill were fascinating to explore. the Old Mill Restaurant served top-notch food and the service provided by Francis, our waiter/bartender/maitre D, was exceptional. the staff throughout the village were extremely kind, helpful, and humorous. Walking around the trails and visiting the beautiful waterfall were highlights of our stay. a great experience that exceeded our expectations!
Cannot find any fault.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel in an abandoned industrial village. The location within a large park, surrounded by woods, streams, and waterfalls, was absolutely breathtaking. It truly felt like a hidden gem nestled away from the bustling city. The attention to detail in the restoration work was remarkable, and we were fascinated by the history of the village. The rooms, although slightly cramped, were well-equipped with all the necessary amenities and we appreciated the extra touches like the coffee-maker, fridge, and safe. The highlight of our stay was the included dinner at the Restaurant du Moulin, where we were treated to a culinary delight. Every dish was scrumptious, beautifully presented, and the service was exceptional despite the busy restaurant. We also enjoyed the convenience of the on-site bus service, which transported us to the restaurant in a vintage style. this hotel provided excellent value for money and offered a unique experience that we will never forget.
All in all, everything was perfectly fine.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, surrounded by beautiful woods, streams, and waterfalls. It was a great escape from the flatness of the region. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with large windows that allowed fresh air to come in. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making our stay enjoyable.
The food at the hotel was just average, nothing to write home about. the information provided about the history of the place was limited, and I would have liked to learn more about the everyday lives of the residents.

What a unique experience staying at this hotel! Set within a large park a few kilometers away from Lac St. Jean, this abandoned 1920s industrial village turned hotel is truly one-of-a-kind. The attention to detail in restoring this once thriving village is impressive, and the result is a picturesque and tranquil setting that feels like stepping back in time. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, adding to the overall charm of the place. The rooms, whether in the restored workers' cottages or the revamped General Store, are spacious, clean, and offer all the necessary amenities. And let's not forget about breakfast - it is delicious, and a great way to start the day.
All in all, our stay at this hotel was exceptional.
